The following series of photos were taken as potential publicity shots for reproduction, and with the addition of autographs, given out at the bands gigs. |
|
Backs to the wall..the boys ‘shine’ in the sun! |
|
Off to the woods..but be careful with the hands on hips look! |

|
Seriously though..some classic poses here. Maybe you have one of the signed photos given away!! If so it would be nice to hear from you, with where and when you saw them. |

Among their many performances, the lads were on the bill of the first “Go Country Club” Festival of Country Music in June 1987.
This write up and picture was taken from the programme. Other acts on that bill included:
Paul & Nadine, John C. King, Lazy ’C’ Ladies, Nebraska, Carolina, Ian Ashcroft, Apache, Hickory Lake, Deuce and the Kelvin Henderson Band. |
|
Extract from the write up by Gordon Hayes, International Country Music News.
“Like Hank Walters and the Dusty Road Ramblers who recently stamped their personality on the Glaxo C.M.C., The Country Gentlemen have been part of the country music scene for more than two decades.
Whilst so many other bands have fallen by the wayside, The Country Gentlemen have retained a degree of dedication to their music and a level of popularity with their audiences which still sees them working an average of five or six nights every week.
As well as having worked in virtually every live music venue in the North East, Alan, Mick, Ken and Joe have experience of working in Europe and have had several offers of work in the United States…” |
